Alternative Health Live Chat with Kristina
March 16, 2005
18:03:58 kristina: Hello to all. It is good to be here with you all. Go ahead and start asking questions and sharing your experiences.
18:04:13 Lisa: Or, maybe many are out for spring break!
18:04:40 kristina: Lisa, your appointment on Friday is at 12:45.
18:04:53 Lisa: Thanks Kris!
18:05:35 Wolf: Kris, do you accept walk-ins?
18:06:16 webmaster: Kristina is so busy that her schedules are usually booked
18:06:24 kristina: You can walk in to buy products but you can't walk in to have any sort of treatment.
18:06:47 Lisa: I took the self metabolic typing test, and I'm a mixed type!
18:07:12 kristina: Well done, Lisa. What sort of dietary changes might you make?
18:07:45 Lisa: Less fruit juice. I could be drink too much of it.
18:08:37 kristina: I have found that most people don't tolerate fruit juice well at all. Too much sugar in the form of fructose, without any of the fiber.
18:08:46 Lisa: I need to cut down on sugar. The stuff is like cat nip!
18:08:48 webmaster: Did you all get the newsletter today? Kristina had a great topic about the toxins in our environment and how to detox with colon cleansing.
18:08:53 kristina: This causes the blood sugar to rise too quickly.
18:09:26 kristina: Yes, sugar is addictive; once you are eating based on your Metabolic Type, your cravings for sugar will diminish drastically.
18:09:42 kristina: If the body isn't getting what it needs at the cellular level, food cravings will occur.
18:10:08 kristina: A person with food cravings will most often crave carbohydrates.
18:10:41 Wolf: Last month the question was posed regarding what to eat before and after an enema. I don't believe the question was answered adequately. Please let me take the liberty of my own insight.
18:11:01 Lisa: Do you know what mole sauce is? It gives me LOTS of energy!!
18:11:37 Lisa: The sauce has so much in it. Too much to list here I think.
18:12:03 Wolf: *)
18:12:29 Lisa: Lots of weird food in Texas!
18:12:59 kristina: I think the best things to eat before and after an enema are raw milk and homemade soup made from bones and vegetables.
18:13:26 Wolf: :/
18:13:40 kristina: These goods are full of healthy bacteria, minerals, enzymes, essential fatty acids, butyrate and gelatin.
18:13:55 Lisa: Not Mexican food, huh?! lol!
18:13:57 kristina: These are the main nutrients needed by the body to keep the colon healthy.
18:14:57 kristina: One topic that I want to talk about is the benefits of using a Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis.
18:15:34 Lisa: Will a strand test work if you have color in your hair?
18:16:13 Lisa: Hair dye I mean.
18:16:25 kristina: As far as what foods are best, the issue is does your body have an electrolyte deficiency? Does your body have enough healthy bacteria? Are you eating enough healthy fats to keep the colonic mucosa healthy? How many heavy metals are in your body? These questions and more can be answered by a HMTA!
18:16:57 kristina: I am now offering them in my office.
18:17:11 Wolf: depends on whether or not you have planned in advance or not. Obviously if you planned in advance it is best to precede with a fast of say 24 hours.
18:17:28 kristina: If your hair is colored you do have to wait until the hair grows out 1.5 inches from the scalp to get an accurate reading.
18:17:58 Lisa: Okay. that makes sense.
18:18:14 kristina: I would absolutely not agree that fasting, without using nutritious liquids, is healthy.
18:18:27 kristina: the 24 hours before taking an enema.
18:19:00 kristina: You're not coloring your hair, are you? ;) ;)
18:19:49 Lisa: I started to grey too early! So yes. I don't want to look old before my time!
18:19:55 Wolf: You referring to more than maintaining an electrolyte balance?
18:20:28 Wolf: Hey, I dye my hair too. :o
18:20:30 kristina: Me, neither. And, yet, hair dyes go directly to the brain and are toxic. Sorry. I wish this weren't true. Henna is much less toxic.
18:21:29 Wolf: I think the formulas for hair dye are different than they were long ago..
18:22:07 Wolf: I can't believe that they are harmful..
18:22:27 Lisa: I used henna back in the 1970s way before I started to grey! I guess I need to use henna again.
18:22:54 Wolf: Glad I'm not going bald anyway...
18:23:28 kristina: Women who regularly use permanent hair dye may be putting themselves at increased risk of bladder cancer. This is one of the largest and most comprehensive studies ever conducted on the issue. Investigators analyzed 897 cases of bladder cancer where information about hair dye use was available, and compared these patients with a similar number of adults who did not use permanent hair dye. The investigators found that women who used permanent hair dye at least once a month were twice as likely as women who did not use permanent hair dye to develop bladder cancer. They took cigarette smoking -- a known risk factor for bladder cancer -- into consideration in their calculations. Those who reported regular use of the hair dye for at least 15 years were more than three times as likely to develop bladder cancer as non-dye users. All of the shades use essentially the same chemicals, but there's quite a lot more of the chemicals in dark brown and black than there are in blonde. International Journal of Cancer February 2001 You can't paste. I just tried. I thought you could. Go to www.mercola.com, type in search and read what he says about hair dyes. For instance, dying your hair does increase your risk of bladder cancer and rhuematoid arthritis.
18:24:56 kristina: I think this is a good moment to all have a cry about how easy it is to poison our bodies today.
18:25:15 Wolf: Isn't chlorine in drinking water also linked to bladder cancer?
18:26:14 Wolf: Heck, just breathing the air might give you cancer, good incentive to eat healthy foods.
18:27:11 kristina: Yeah! This is the main reason that I am always encouraging folks to eat foods with the highest nutrient quantity.
18:27:18 kristina: Our bodies are a bit like rain barrels.
18:27:24 Wolf: Examine studies regarding the benefits of eating certain foods. Some claimed to ward of certain cancers.
18:27:43 tsomma: Several drugs are administered by direct absorption through the skin (eg. nitroglycerine). Dyes and other organic compounds can also be absorbed the same way.
18:27:44 Lisa: I like this topic on hair color, since so many people use it, and it's a very different topic. Thanks for all the information Kris!
18:27:57 Wolf: Aren't you glad you like broccoli and spinach?
18:27:59 kristina: We live in environments where these rain barrels become full just by going to the gas station, drinking chlorinated water, working too hard, not sleeping enough, dying our hair and more.
18:29:08 kristina: Because of this, it is so crucial to our health, our longevity and the health of our children that we eat optimally healthy foods like raw milk, raw butter, coconut oil, grass fed meats, organic vegetables and fruits and high quality water.
18:29:33 kristina: You are welcome! Thank you.
18:29:58 Wolf: I work in a factory with all kinds of smoke from welding and machines in the air. I cringe when I look at the machine filters. Many cancers in long term employees...
18:30:23 kristina: But, let us not panic but use the tools that are available to use to guide our diets and our cleansing regimes like the hair analysis.
18:30:27 Wolf: Hey, I live in Chicago, no raw milk here...
18:31:33 Wolf: Too many dangerous chemicals used in manufacturing.
18:31:38 kristina: You can assess your toxin levels using the HTMA. The cost is $50 plus $1.40 per minute for the consult. I usually take about 30-60 minutes to assist folks with setting up a comprehensive program to bring electrolyte levels to where they need to be,
18:32:18 kristina: to remove the heavy metals, to balance the adrenal glands and the thyroid glands.
18:32:47 Lisa: Outside of Chicago there may be a farm that has raw milk.
18:33:00 kristina: Yes, you do have access to raw milk in Chicago. There are raw milk coops where you can pick up your milk once a week or you can drive to a farm.
18:33:03 jim: talk about colon tubes and diverticular disease
18:33:09 kristina: Go to www.realmilk.com to find out more information.
18:33:58 Lisa: There is a farm outside of Austin that delivers it right to your door!!
18:34:11 kristina: Are you drinking raw milk these days, Lisa?
18:34:36 Wolf: Maybe I have unfounded fears about raw milk products.
18:34:45 Lisa: Not often enough. I'm not really a milk drinker.
18:35:06 kristina: They are understandable fears and they are not accurate.
18:35:07 Wolf: What if you're lactose intolerant?
18:35:58 kristina: The enzymes in the raw milk will assist you to digest the milk. I am very lactose intolerant but I drink lots of raw milk to great health benefit. If I drank commercial, even organic, milk, I would be sick in bed for days.
18:36:17 kristina: Raw dairy is our best medicine in these toxic times.
18:36:50 Lisa: I do however, like to use raw milk when I make yogurt.
18:38:02 Wolf: I'll do some reasearch on that Kristina. Also plan to examine your other work for more insight. Any chance of giving me a discount? :?
18:38:20 kristina: Excellent. How do you make your own yogurt?
18:38:42 kristina: For research, you might try www.westonaprice.org as well as www.mercola.com.
18:38:52 Wolf: Already checked out all of your great website, but you're holding back on us.
18:39:05 harv: can we send u a strand of hair for analysis?
18:39:47 Wolf: Ever considered being interviewed on a talk show Kristina ?
18:40:06 Wolf: That would be interesting.
18:40:24 kristina: Email me if you wish to have a hair analysis. There is a protocol that we must follow to get the lab the quantity and quality of hair that they are looking for.
18:40:31 Lisa: There is a machine that makes yogurt, but it takes many hours to make. There is a starter kit I get at whole foods market. It's a little tricky to make. The temp has to be just right.
18:40:34 kristina: I would love to be interviewed on a talk show.
18:40:44 kristina: I make raw milk ice cream at home.
18:40:58 kristina: It is healthy and has no sugar.
18:41:24 kristina: huh? about the holding back?
18:41:50 Wolf: You'll let us know if it happens, right? Maybe you can send off some letters to talk show hosts.
18:42:04 kristina: I wouldn't use a colon tube if you have any sort of weakening of the bowel wall.
18:42:24 Wolf: For more information buy the CD or Video.... Would love to check them out.
18:42:27 kristina: I will let you all know if I am on a talk show.
18:42:44 Lisa: I've been trying to get Kristina on some talk shows like The View. I've haven't heard anything back yet.
18:43:30 kristina: The View did contact us, Lisa. Isn't that funny! However, they called us 18 hours before the show was to air and gave us no time to respond. It was a bit stressful. But, I won't hold it against them.
18:43:33 Lisa: I guess talk shows are afraid of talking about enemas!
18:43:37 Wolf: People just don't want to accept the concept.....
18:44:06 kristina: Do people have any health concerns they would like a hand with?
18:44:26 Wolf: Lisa, are you kidding? Just look at all the truly weird stuff they already address.
18:44:42 Lisa: How interesting Kris! Was this recent?
18:45:09 Wolf: Is the view based in Chicago ?
18:45:25 tsomma: On the issue of carbohydrate cravings, is there any evidence that they may be controlled by hydrotherapy or throught he use of any supplements?
18:45:38 Lisa: The View is in NY. Oprah is in Chicago.
18:45:41 Wolf: Five more minutes.... :(
18:46:00 Wolf: Maybe Oprah would be interested.
18:46:18 kristina: Two weeks ago.
18:46:23 Lisa: I'll try Oprah!
18:46:53 Wolf: Are we on the same wavelength Lisa ??? :D
18:46:58 kristina: Carbohydrate cravings will only be controlled by eating the right foods for you and not by colon hydrothearapy or supplements.
18:48:11 Lisa: Read the book, Metabolic Typing Diet by William Wolcott and Trish Fahey.
18:48:33 Wolf: In the meantime I'll check out the DVD. Any chance of a discount Kris? ;)
18:49:35 kristina: And, soon, my new book will be out in paperback version and will go into great detail on using colon hydrotherapy, raw fats, and other dietary changes to be optimally healthy. I am very proud of it and know that you will all enjoy it tremendously.
