16:52:59 kristina: Hi Dave! How are things?
16:54:33 Dave: Fine Kris. Keeping up with my therapies and trying to stay ahead of board spam!
16:55:24 czolfaghari: hello
16:55:34 Dave: Lisa has home and work issues at the moment, hopefully can make it.
16:55:42 czolfaghari: great
16:55:43 kristina: Welcome.
16:56:04 kristina: Lisa, you are so dedicated. Thank you. How is your mom?
16:56:07 Dave: No sooner did i say ...
16:56:26 kristina: This chat opens in a few minutes. Please feel free to go ahead with any questions or comments.
16:57:09 Lisa: Hi Everyone! I may be going on and off during the chat, catching up on things. I've been out most of the day. But I'm glad to be here anyway!
16:57:12 czolfaghari: i have started today the 7 days vit ra tox program
16:57:18 kristina: I am encouraging a theme tonight of all the different methods of cleansing, including colon cleansing, diet, herbs, enemas, colon hydrotherapy and more.
16:57:20 czolfaghari: my question is...
16:57:26 kristina: Congratulations.
16:57:30 Lisa: Kris, my mom is doing better. Thanks for asking.
16:57:32 czolfaghari: shall I also do colonics at the same time?
16:58:15 Dave: I haven't been successful with bulb enemas, and can't access the mini-video, so maybe a run-through here, Kris?
16:58:49 kristina: First of all, did you prepare for the 7 day Vit-Ra-Tox program? How?
16:58:57 clayface: hello, folks!
16:59:09 czolfaghari: no, i did not prepare
16:59:17 czolfaghari: I just bought the package
16:59:24 kristina: When you ask shall I do colonics at the same time, are you doing enemas or no?
16:59:24 Dave: Hi Clay, you are keeping the board going!
16:59:25 Lisa: I'm not too fond of the bulb enemas either, Dave!
16:59:36 czolfaghari: what preparation you are referring to?
16:59:38 clayface: coolness
17:00:08 czolfaghari: no, i am not doing enema
17:00:17 kristina: Okay...two big topics...this is great...I will work with the Vit-Ra-Tox issue first and then the bulb issue...
17:00:47 kristina: Yes, you do want to do at-home enemas or professional colon hydrotherapy sessions during your 7 day cleanse.
17:00:51 Lisa: Clay, thanks for all your posts on the board! I think it's important to hear from someone so young that does enemas for good health.
17:01:04 czolfaghari: great
17:01:05 clayface: thank you, Lisa
17:01:20 czolfaghari: shall i do a colonic session every day during the 7 days program ?
17:01:49 kristina: When I say prepare, I encourage people to work through a dietary and lifestyle program that optimizes their bodies ability to detoxify before they go into a fast. This is written about extensively in my book, Ten Days to Optimal Health, which can be found here
17:02:17 Dave: Had a few bulbs as a baby/toddler, but guess the enema can worked better for me later in mom's opinion.
17:02:19 clayface: kristina, why do i feel sore on my left side after i do enemas for at least two days?
17:02:54 czolfaghari: great thanks
17:03:16 clayface: Lisa and Dave, did you both happen to get my responses?
17:03:18 czolfaghari: how often do i need to do enema / colonics during those 7 days?
17:03:48 kristina: As far as how often you want to do a colonic during the seven day cleanse, you want to remove 4-5 feet of stool each day. This is often hard to do without the colon cleansing.
17:04:21 clayface: hi, sawdis
17:04:23 kristina: When I work with clients, I see up to twenty feet of stool removed each day. I have folks come in for colon hydrotherapy on days two, three, and five.
17:04:28 sawdis: hey clay
17:04:36 Lisa: Guess what! I'm leaving my old two quart in my bathroom, and I don't even care anymore if someone sees it. Like I said on the message board, I'm in the early stages of menopause, and an enema is great relief for me!
17:04:41 kristina: I also encourage them to do enemas at home, if they have the time.
17:04:45 czolfaghari: great
17:04:53 clayface: hi, Tim
17:05:02 Tim: hi clayface
17:05:05 Dave: Clay, yes, seeing your stuff here.
17:05:12 clayface: ok, cool
17:05:24 kristina: Clayface, do you have any health issues that you are struggling with besides this soreness on your left side after enemas?
17:05:37 clayface: yes, just a lot of hunger
17:05:41 czolfaghari: thank you Kris
17:05:48 clayface: sometimes tiredness
17:05:53 kristina: And, of course, I encourage folks to use coffee while they are fasting.
17:06:26 Lisa: Sorry for my many typos. So many! I hope you understand me anyway. The heat is so bad in texas now, and am just starting to cool off.
17:06:33 clayface: also, most of the time i get the urge to have a bowel movement usually 30 minutes to an hour later, and watery mucus comes out.
17:06:34 kristina: To learn more about using coffee enemas, go here
17:06:44 kristina: Clayface, you are hungry all the time?
17:06:55 clayface: i think so
17:07:40 Dave: Lisa, using the bag as need arises or on regular schedule?
17:07:46 kristina: Before I go on from the seven day cleanse issue, I wanted to highlight that the liver is your main organ of detoxification.
17:08:12 kristina: Given that the liver is your main organ of detox, you want it working well and prepared to handle a cleanse.
17:08:13 clayface: Lisa, that is wonderful. i wish i had that boldness.
17:08:25 clayface: i agree, kristina
17:08:38 kristina: If you jump into a cleanse without preparing your liver, you can damage the liver.
17:08:38 clayface: i have not had a detox enema before, but i am willing to try.
17:08:50 Lisa: We need to be bold so we can help others!
17:09:13 kristina: And, of course, going through a seven day cleanse, after strengthening the liver, is an excellent way to improve your health.
17:09:31 clayface: well, i have become a lot more bold since i first started enemas, that's for sure. I have declared my desire to do colon cleansing for a career.
17:09:51 clayface: kristina, are there herbal teas for liver detox, too?
17:09:57 kristina: Do you mean that you get the urge to have a bowel movement 30 minutes after your enema?
17:09:59 czolfaghari: ok so i am going to wait and do the prep before starting the cleansing
17:10:05 clayface: yes, kristina.
17:10:29 clayface: it depends on how much water was released during the enema, and how relaxed I was, etc.
17:10:39 clayface: a lot of factors go into it
17:10:51 clayface: privacy is my main obstacle
17:11:25 kristina: If you are in pain after your enema, most likely you need to change something about your diet.
17:11:47 clayface: i can agree on that. it has been nearly impossible for me to give up dairy.
17:11:50 kristina: Pain after an enema most often is an indicator of an inflamed or easily inflamed colon.
17:11:53 clayface: i crave cheese and milk a lot.
17:12:05 clayface: yes, i believe i may have IBS
17:12:06 kristina: Have you tried raw dairy, www.realmilk.com?
17:12:15 clayface: i have never tried raw dairy
17:12:21 sawdis: yeah privacy is an issue for me too, don't like lots of noise during an enema
17:12:36 clayface: i like no one else home when i have my enemas :)
17:12:50 sawdis: yeah it's the best case scenario
17:13:00 clayface: true, true
17:13:00 kristina: Pasteurized dairy is unhealthy for almost everyone. Raw dairy is a health food.
17:13:01 sawdis: even if they know you are doing enemas
17:13:35 Dave: It's best not done in a group setting!
17:13:46 clayface: how so, Dave?
17:14:03 clayface: oh... sorry i misread what you said
17:14:08 kristina: There are herbal teas but detoxification is much more complex than we are led to believe.
17:14:14 clayface: i thought you said it WAS best done in a group setting. my bad
17:14:44 kristina: For a few hours, the liver binds and processes most toxins. Those that escape the liver and remain in the body distribute themselves according to their chemical affinity, with oil soluble things entering all cells, but staying longest in the passive lipid droplets of fat cells. Toxic metals tend to compete with physiological metals, such as calcium, so they tend to accumulate in the bones more than elsewhere. Weight loss can release deadly amounts of otherwise fairly harmless toxins, so removal should be very slow, for example with coffee, orange juice, and raw milk in the diet, and keeping the liver well nourished so that under the influence of thyroid hormone it can detoxify and excrete things as they enter the bloodstream. Since the polyunsaturated fatty acids poison the detoxifying system, avoidance of them is the essential thing for gradual detoxifying.
17:14:45 clayface: i am all for herbal teas and colon detox
17:15:31 kristina: I know what I just posted is complicated but my point is that there is much to learn about how to effectively detoxify.
17:15:43 clayface: indeed
17:15:51 clayface: i look forward to having the time to try
17:15:58 kristina: All the colon cleanse products that are being offered on the market miss the mark.
17:16:18 Lisa: Just wondering what you think of this. There is a study that says the green tea does nothing for you. Are these studies wrong, or does anyone agree with the study?
17:16:22 kristina: My next newsletter will attempt to further this detoxification issue.
17:16:27 clayface: for the next three weeks...as far as I know now, i have no hours of work scheduled. That is not necessarily a good thing, but also doesn't have to be bad.
17:16:49 kristina: No, you can learn and rest and heal and hang with friends and sit in the sunshine.
17:16:57 kristina: Dave, back to the bulb syringe...
17:17:04 clayface: i like sunshine, but just not too much humidity
17:17:16 kristina: And, you want to know what the small volume enema movie is all about?
17:17:31 kristina: Can you ask a few more questions so that I can target to your specific need?
17:17:52 michael_b: hello fron elko nevada, summer is 1 week away, and it was freezing here this morning - a lovely summer solstice to all.
17:18:25 Dave: Yes, I understand a woman takes a small bulb one. Just need to know the technique. i seem to insert more air than water.
17:18:40 kristina: Lisa, could you give us a link to the study on green tea?
17:19:02 clayface: hi, michael
17:19:06 kristina: Thank you, Michael!
17:20:46 kristina: The bulb syringe is a bit of a challenge to use.
17:21:00 kristina: You do need to fill the bulb syringe fully before you insert it into your anus.
17:21:09 kristina: Make sure you lubricate the nozzle well.
17:21:50 kristina: In order to fill the bulb syringe fully, to eliminate as much air as you possibly can, fill a large bowl full of water.
17:22:02 kristina: Fully squeeze the bulb syringe.
17:22:34 kristina: Place the bulb into the water. Slowly let the water into the bulb.
17:23:06 kristina: Once the bulb is fully inflated, take it out of the water, point it into the air and squeeze over the bowl.
17:23:16 kristina: This is push out any air in the bulb.
17:23:31 kristina: From here, place the tip in the water in order to draw more water into the bulb.
17:24:03 kristina: Once the bulb is full, hold the bulb upright, lubricate it well, bring around to your anus and insert.
17:24:20 Dave: I think the bulb enema is something best given you by another. Insertion angle and reach around to insert are issues for me. Many thanks.
17:24:21 kristina: Squeeze the bulb slowly, allowing the sigmoid colon to fill.
17:25:03 kristina: This is true. It is difficult.
17:25:17 kristina: Also, an enema bag is a fine tool for cleansing the lower colon.
17:25:43 sawdis: Kristina I am at the beginning of chapter 4 of your book, naturally having many questions
17:25:45 kristina: Lisa, do you drink green tea?
17:25:53 clayface: bulbs are good for a quick clean for me. but a bag is when i have a lot of down time.
17:26:05 kristina: Thanks for reading it. Ask away.
17:26:15 Lisa: I sometimes do drink green tea.
17:26:18 Dave: Oh yes, we learned the bag or can is best, sooner or later.
17:27:14 kristina: I used to drink lots of green tea but recently I have switch to small amounts of organic, fair-trade coffee.
17:27:29 sawdis: alright here is a good one. you say we can drink spring water (or reverse osmosis) for detox... I heard on the news spring water has so many impurities that it's better to drink tap water... can you debunk/explain this?
17:27:36 kristina: I think coffee, in small amounts, offers more therapeutic benefits.
17:28:35 kristina: Yes, this is a good question.
17:28:38 clayface: sawdis, i think all of the negative news concerning health is ultimately linked back to the pharmaceutical companies
17:29:06 Lisa: I heard that about spring water too. I have a water filter in my house. I like that very much.
17:29:06 sawdis: no kidding clay :) but I still want to hear Kristina's explanation :)
17:29:10 Dave: Kris, is that the coffee you sell? We know how good it is at the other end, lol.
17:29:13 clayface: no problem
17:29:30 kristina: I don't think one can generalize. Some spring water is of a high quality and some is not. Most city water is contaminated with chlorine, which we know is hard on the body. It is a very complex issue. I would direct you to do some research and report back for all of us.
17:29:35 kristina: You can start at http://www.water-research.net/helpguide.htm
17:30:08 Lisa: Enema coffee tasts terrible, so I hope you don't drink that!
17:30:22 kristina: and http://www.fws.gov/contaminants/Issues/WaterQuality.cfm
17:30:28 clayface: lisa, is that before or after the enema? LOL :)
17:30:35 kristina: No, I do not drink the enema coffee.
17:31:17 Lisa: It tastes terrible anytime you drink it. I'm glad you don't drink that, Kris!
17:31:29 kristina: Your drinking water is much improved when you put a reverse osmosis filtration system on your plumbing.
17:31:45 kristina: Have you tried to drink the enema coffee, Lisa?
17:32:03 clayface: kristina, i have mentioned that to my parents, specifically a reverse osmosis showerhead, but they disapproved.
17:32:04 Dave: I read that even Wal-Mart is getting into fair trade coffee (maybe to boost image).
17:32:11 Lisa: No, but I remember you saying it tastes terrible.
17:32:34 kristina: and more information on water quality, http://www.nsf.org/consumer/drinking_water/dw_well.asp?program=WaterTre
17:34:10 Lisa: Dave, I boycott Wal-Mart because they won't sell The Dixie Chicks' new CD!!
17:34:21 clayface: lol!
17:34:28 kristina: Yes, Wal-Mart is doing such things, http://www.organicconsumers.org/organic/walmart.cfm
17:34:41 kristina: I, too, boycott Wal-Mart.
17:34:45 clayface: wal-mart is an evil organization
17:34:57 Lisa: Wal-Mart sucks!
17:35:06 clayface: indeed
17:35:08 sawdis: so for enema water, if I don't have reverse osmosis and I can choose between spring water and carbon filtered water, which would be better?
17:35:27 kristina: Wal-Mart cultivates an aw-shucks, we're-just-folks-from-Arkansas image of neighborly small-town shopkeepers trying to sell stuff cheaply to you and yours. Behind its soft homespun ads, however, is what one union leader calls "this devouring beast" of a corporation that ruthlessly stomps on workers, neighborhoods, competitors, and suppliers.
17:35:47 Dave: None near me, so I don't have to boycott.
17:36:07 clayface: i wholeheartedly agree, kristina
17:36:17 michael_b: lisa, i read about your watching dr.quinn, with jane seymour. in an interview she stated her most dangerious factor was her eyes. i guess so, one is green
17:36:37 Dave: They do sell combo bags for $4.96!
17:37:10 clayface: kristina, when i take enemas, when should i expect to start going on my own without the help of enemas daily...or even weekly? Or, do you recommend daily/weekly enemas?
17:37:59 kristina: Sawdis, it depends on your source of spring water. Unfortunately, this is not a question I can answer except for on an individual basis.
17:38:09 kristina: Certainly, the carbon filtered water is an excellent start.
17:38:13 Lisa: That's interesting Michael!
17:38:39 kristina: However, high quality spring water can be a healthy enema solution with its available minerals.
17:39:20 sawdis: can I test the water quality myself with a test kit? do you know how much I should pay for one?
17:39:26 kristina: I do recommend that everyone uses Celtic sea salt in their enema solutions
17:40:05 Dave: Another choice as enema water might be bottled reverse osmosis water, such as Aquafina.
17:40:28 clayface: wow, Aquafina is reverse osmosis?
17:40:35 clayface: what about distilled water?
17:41:25 Dave: Yup, Aquafina is purified tap put through the OS process. No spring.
17:41:30 kristina: There are do-it-yourself water test kits. Also, most counties have programs to test water for under $100.
17:41:46 kristina: Distilled water pulls important minerals from the body.
17:41:58 clayface: are you absolutely sure about that?
17:42:00 sawdis: cool, I had $100 in my mind as the target price - nice to know I was dead on
17:42:27 kristina: One of the major foundational reasons is that distilled water is highly acidic. Most of us are far too acidic already and the last thing we need to be drinking is a fluid that will make us even more acidic
17:42:41 kristina: Distilled water is alleged to be beneficial due to its lack of contaminants. Well, many of the devices that distill water are made of metal and will actually add certain toxic metals like nickel back to the water, which actually worsens health.
17:42:54 clayface: eww
17:43:07 kristina: Yes.
17:43:12 clayface: i might as well return those two gallons i bought from Publix the other night, then.
17:43:20 clayface: hi, EB
17:43:51 clayface: well, is there a website i could check out about how distilled water is made?
17:43:58 clayface: one that you recommend?
17:44:05 kristina: And, it is fine to use distilled water once in awhile, but not regularly.
17:45:08 kristina: Here is one link about distilled water
17:45:17 Lisa: I'll never use distilled water, and I never have used it.
17:45:34 Dave: A lot of us survived tap water (before chlorination) enemas at least a few times a year, but purified is better.
17:45:42 clayface: i drank some the other night, and i thought it tasted funny. But i'm glad i did not yet use it with an enema
17:47:12 kristina: Clayface, I see I missed one of your questions about "going on your own" and enema use.
17:47:29 clayface: oh, yes, i forgot about that
17:47:35 sawdis: the only thing that bugs me about carbon filtered water is it doesn't filter out fluoride molecules because they say it's too small. I've been trying to avoid fluorides as well as chlorine. Fluorides in the enema can't be good
17:47:42 kristina: My first question to you is when you started taking enemas, how often did your bowels move?
17:48:04 clayface: when i first started...i can't remember. That was several years ago
17:48:04 kristina: I agree that fluorides in the enema can't be good.
17:48:11 Lisa: I cut and pasted the distilled water link. I want to post the link on the message board.
17:48:18 clayface: most of the time i either had diarrhea or constipation.
17:48:20 kristina: Thanks much, Lisa.
17:48:29 clayface: i ate a lot of hotdogs, cheese, candy, etc.
17:48:39 Lisa: You're very welcome Kris!
17:48:44 clayface: thanks, Lisa
17:49:16 Dave: Too soon to discuss next chat date? July 12?
17:49:32 kristina: Enemas alone do not tend to fully resolve a history of either constipation or diarrhea.
