kristina |
Hello everyone. |
| 18:00:23 |
Carol45 |
*choochoo* Good evening everyone. |
| 18:00:36 |
Amy33 |
Hello kristina |
| 18:00:53 |
Amy33 |
hello carol |
| 18:01:09 |
Carol45 |
Hi Amy |
| 18:01:10 |
kristina |
Carol. Thanks so very much for sharing your health history on the forum. I would love to have an update from you on how the weekend went with the changes. |
| 18:01:16 |
LoneEagle |
Hello all |
| 18:01:28 |
kristina |
Hello, Amy33. |
| 18:01:50 |
kristina |
Please do go ahead and start with questions, comments, concerns. |
| 18:02:07 |
Amy33 |
right now dealing with the flu here |
| 18:02:35 |
Elsie |
Good evening, Kristina. Am fairly new to this, but have been reading past chats. Have lots of questions about hypothyroidism and am working to get a phone consult with you. |
| 18:02:46 |
kristina |
Sorry, Amy. What are your flu symptoms? How long? Have you tried an enema series? |
| 18:03:24 |
kristina |
Ask away, Elsie. Folks are often shy to chime in. I love it when people ask TONS of questions! |
| 18:03:36 |
Carol45 |
I've started on the Reacted Magnesium. Got an upset feeling so cut back to 1, 2x's a day and will build up from there. Stopped the Pregnenalone, and looks like the rash is going away. |
| 18:04:38 |
Amy33 |
I came down with it over the weekend .... achy all over, stuffed up .... i took an enema monday which seemed to help some ... I'm not really too knowledgeable about them though |
| 18:05:18 |
kristina |
Carol, you sure are learning a lot about listening to your body and fine tuning your program accordingly. You are destined to be the picture of health before you know it. Any other reason why you might have gotten a stomach ache? I have not had many reports of troubles with the Reacted Magnesium over the 8 years of using it therapeutically, so I wonder if there wasn't another cause??? |
| 18:05:51 |
kristina |
Did you use sea salt in the enema water, Amy? |
| 18:06:01 |
kristina |
Did you take an enema series or just one enema? |
| 18:06:15 |
Amy33 |
no, just warm water with baking soda |
| 18:06:25 |
Amy33 |
just one |
| 18:06:27 |
kristina |
Elsie, what leads you to believe that you have an underfunctioning thyroid? |
| 18:06:31 |
LoneEagle |
Hello, I am currently having weight problems due to lack of exercise, heavy use of prescription narcotic drugs, and drugs that cause an increase in appetite |
| 18:06:57 |
Elsie |
Last month one of the chat people mentioned that a coffee enema was the first place to start. True? I cannot tolerate enemas, however I do well with colonics. Will the coffee enema taken after a colonic do the same? |
| 18:07:05 |
kristina |
Since the one enema seemed to help some, I would try another enema. But this time, I would take 3 enemas in a row. |
| 18:07:23 |
LoneEagle |
Would a daily enema help to move things along in the system and help with weight loss? |
| 18:07:25 |
Carol45 |
Very possibly - had dinner out with the kids the evening before. Hasn't bothered me since. I take it on an empty stomach with the Primal Defense. |
| 18:07:28 |
kristina |
In the first enema, I would take 1-2 quarts of filtered water, along with 1 teaspoon of sea salt per quart. |
| 18:07:29 |
Elsie |
I've been diagnosed since 1987 and have been struggling with it since then. |
| 18:07:35 |
Amy33 |
How much volume should I use for each one? |
| 18:07:48 |
Amy33 |
ok |
| 18:08:18 |
kristina |
For the second enema, try taking 2-3 quarts of the salt water solution. For the third enema, try one quart of water with 1 cup of brewed coffee. How does this sound? |
| 18:08:36 |
kristina |
LoneEagle, |
| 18:08:42 |
Carol45 |
Is anyone having trouble logging in? - some regulars are missing. |
| 18:08:50 |
kristina |
A daily enema is an excellent place to start. |
| 18:08:52 |
Amy33 |
I'll try that |
| 18:09:25 |
Amy33 |
i do use enemas occasionally for constipation |
| 18:09:43 |
Elsie |
I'm on Levoxyl which had been reduced from 150mcg to 100 mcgs and now has been increased again to 125mcg. My ND has suggested that I take T3 in addition to the Levoxyl which I have been doing for the past few weeks. |
| 18:09:59 |
LoneEagle |
Is it better to take it in the morning or at night for my case? |
| 18:10:05 |
kristina |
LE - I think you would need to do the coffee enemas to wrap up your series in order to assist your liver with detoxification. |
| 18:10:50 |
kristina |
You will most likely also need to add some therapeutic detoxifying foods to your daily diet, like 80-100 grams of high-quality protein, orange juice, and coconut oil. |
| 18:11:22 |
kristina |
Carol, take magnesium with food, okay? Also, what did you eat out with the kids? |
| 18:11:35 |
LoneEagle |
How many should I take in a series? |
| 18:11:49 |
Carol45 |
I got really hungry for oatmeal the other morning after the ice storm. I had some on hand from before (not the good stuff) so made a bowl. Instead of using the vegetable glycerine, I used a tablespoon of coconut oil, and of course my goat's milk. |
| 18:12:41 |
kristina |
Yes, the coffee enema taken with a colon hydrotherapy session does offer the same benefit as an enema series with a coffee enema. The colon hydrotherapist ought to be able to just add the coffee in at the end of the session and let you sit there for 12-15 minutes, which is what we do hear at the Optimal Health Center |
| 18:12:59 |
Carol45 |
Kristina, I was hoping you wouldn't ask! It was chinese, and I stayed with the seafood - no rice or pasta. They have baked salmon. |
| 18:13:34 |
kristina |
Amy, did I answer your question about enema solution volume? You guys are doing such a good job chatting with me that if I am not responding to your post, please post again in a couple of minutes, okay? |
| 18:13:48 |
Carol45 |
I'm trying to stay away from breads, etc. The oatmeal was a treat, and very tasty. |
| 18:13:49 |
Elsie |
I am the colon hydrotherapist but haven't had any experience with implants. Not that far advanced in my training. Got any tips? |
| 18:14:16 |
kristina |
Have you seen any benefit from the T3? Have you read the web site www.stopthethyroidmadness.com? |
| 18:14:39 |
kristina |
LE - the morning, but if you don't have time, whatever time is fine. |
| 18:14:40 |
Amy33 |
yes you did.... i didn't realize though that it is better to take a series of enemas |
| 18:14:55 |
kristina |
LE - take 3 in a series |
| 18:15:08 |
LoneEagle |
Ok |
| 18:15:42 |
kristina |
Carol, sounds like you did a good job adjusting your oatmeal breakfast to make it the healthiest meal possible. That is just fine. |
| 18:16:20 |
Elsie |
No I haven't read that web site. At first I was living in the world of perpetual hot flash, but we've regulated it so that I feel somewhat normal. And yes, I have noticed that I don't have to boot myself in the behind as much to get started on my day. |
| 18:16:31 |
kristina |
Ask, ask, ask is my middle name. Chinese can be healthy, as long as the restaurant doesn't add MSG, which most do. Often you can request no MSG in your dish. |
| 18:16:42 |
kristina |
I bet the oatmeal was very tasty. |
| 18:16:59 |
kristina |
Elsie, what kind of machine to you use? |
| 18:17:10 |
LoneEagle |
Ok I have coffee and goat's milk soap from your company - anything else I should use? |
| 18:17:21 |
Elsie |
Same as yours - Dotolo. |
| 18:17:47 |
Elsie |
Please, don't call it a machine. It's an instrument! |
| 18:17:59 |
kristina |
One enema will only clear out the lower portion of the colon. An enema series often can clear out much more of the colon and often the entire colon. This is why you take a series of enemas. |
| 18:18:09 |
Carol45 |
Kristina, did I read somewhere that you can add lavender oil to a coffee enema? |
| 18:18:26 |
kristina |
Sorry. Instrument it is. |
| 18:18:43 |
Amy33 |
oh ok |
| 18:18:47 |
kristina |
Elsie, it sounds as if you would also benefit from progesterone in Vitamin E. |
| 18:20:18 |
Carol45 |
I can't pinpoint anything specific, just a general feeling of being a little stronger, since I started the ProgestE. |
| 18:20:19 |
Elsie |
How will progesterone affect the Arimidex and the reduced estrogen? I take vitamin E as a supplement and even more |
| 18:20:52 |
LoneEagle |
I would like to start with a professional session but I can not find any in here in Iowa |
| 18:20:52 |
kristina |
In order to add the coffee to the colon hydrotherapy treatment, you give the entire treatment. At the very end, you pull off the inflow tubing from the its male connector on the colon hydrotherapy instrument. Lift the tubing high so as to not let any water out. Have one to two cups of warm coffee in a container that allows you to pour the coffee for the colon implant into that small opening in the tubing. We use a stainless steel can. |
| 18:21:16 |
Elsie |
And even more E with COQ10 |
| 18:21:16 |
kristina |
LE - sea salt and peppermint |
| 18:22:14 |
LoneEagle |
Ok, soap first, the salt/peppermint, then coffee? |
| 18:22:33 |
kristina |
You might also want to do the 5 day colon cleanse fast, (Vit-Ra-Tox colon cleanse kit is what we use) but I always recommend that people follow a 30 day dietary protocol to strengthen their detoxification pathways before they do a five day fast. |
| 18:23:02 |
kristina |
Yes, the soap, peppermint and sea salt and then coffee - exactly |
| 18:23:14 |
LoneEagle |
Yeah, I got it right |
| 18:24:14 |
kristina |
A professional colon cleanse is always an excellent idea, but you can clear out the colon fully using enema equipment and the enema series. |
| 18:24:15 |
LoneEagle |
Ok, question for anyone ... I would like a professional session - anyone know of any in or close to Iowa? |
| 18:24:27 |
Carol45 |
Why is it that sometimes there is more slight cramping with enema solutions when I use the same "formulas" and temperature, and flow rate? I know cheese is constipating - could other changes in your diet change the reaction you get with enemas? |
| 18:24:35 |
kristina |
Go to www.i-act.org for a list of colon hydrotherapists |
| 18:25:37 |
Carol45 |
I found a listing for the St. Louis area, but I wasn't sure how to read the "ranking" of the therapists. |
| 18:26:26 |
major |
Do you know of any therapist who offers enema sessions? |
| 18:26:31 |
kristina |
Elsie, I don't know enough about your situation to answer your previous question. I need to see a full picture before I guide you to which supplements. However, I do know that the most important therapeutic factors to improve thyroid are protein, mineral rich fruit sugar, progesterone, coconut oil and sea salt. |
| 18:28:02 |
Elsie |
As soon as Dee Dee gets back to me with a time and date and sends the intake form, you'll have your information. More than that I guess I'll just have to wait until I speak with you on the phone. I may need more than the 1/2 hour I had planned on. |
| 18:29:11 |
kristina |
Well, do tell the colon hydrotherapists that you meet that if they want to promote themselves on this chat and my message boards, they need to make a post introducing themselves. We can all ask lots of questions so that we can start a ranking system here. I think the fact that they are I-ACT certified speaks volumes to their skill and integrity as colon hydrotherapists. However, it speaks very little to their knowledge about nutrition, skill level, years of experience, knowledge of interplay between colon cleansing, hormones, vitamin and mineral levels. |
| 18:30:01 |
kristina |
The level of inflammation overall in the body is the main factor that influences how much cramping one will experience during an enema series. |
| 18:30:34 |
kristina |
Dietary changes, weather changes, hormonal shifts, stress, sleep - these all determine one's level of inflammation |
| 18:31:09 |
kristina |
oh... how often you ate, in other words, if you blood sugar is fluctuating, you are likely to be more inflamed. |
| 18:31:30 |
Carol45 |
Kristina, that fits. Stress from work and lack of sleep were going on at the same time. |
| 18:32:18 |
kristina |
I know of not a single therapist, other than myself and my associate, Dee Dee, who gives an enema series. Again, if you find people who do, have them introduce themselves on the message boards. I get e-mails almost daily from people who are looking for both colon hydrotherapists and for enema therapists. |
| 18:32:49 |
Elsie |
You're right. I am I-ACT certified but only have the basics. Can't get the intermediate course for another year. I've only been exploring this natural scene for a couple of years now (January 2005) and need to do a lot of reading for nutrition, hormones |
| 18:33:22 |
Elsie |
Cancer does a lot to open a person's eyes and senses. |
| 18:33:29 |
Carol45 |
Oh - I was going to say I could tear my hair out, except it's thinning on its own. There is a definite improvement there, its stronger (ProgestE, Primal Defense, Coconut Oil, etc.) |
| 18:34:22 |
kristina |
And, remember my story, I started giving enemas in my practice because a man from Chicago asked me to. He had been hit by a car, which rendered his bowel inoperable. He learned from an MD that the colon cleanse was his best choice for daily bowel cleansing. He has taken an enema series everyday now for 12 years or so. (I don't remember exactly). I am eternally grateful to him for introducing me to the enema. |
| 18:34:45 |
kristina |
Yes, cancer will do that. |
| 18:34:51 |
Carol45 |
And so are we! |
| 18:35:08 |
Elsie |
My health problems are my learning tool right now. |
| 18:35:10 |
kristina |
Sounds like, Elsie, that you have a lot to be proud of - all that you have learned and how you are taking charge of your health. Well done! |
| 18:35:37 |
Elsie |
Have sooooo much more to learn to be the best I can be. |
| 18:35:50 |
Amy33 |
I need to start doing that myself |
| 18:35:52 |
kristina |
That is how I started, Elsie. |
| 18:35:56 |
kristina |
Do you have cancer? |
| 18:35:56 |
Carol45 |
Elsie - I hope you're near downstate Illinois. |
| 18:36:51 |
Elsie |
Sorry Carol. I live in southern Maine. Just opened my own business of colon hydrotherapy because there are so few and I had a hard time finding one at the beginning. |
| 18:37:28 |
kristina |
Elsie, I would recommend my book, Ten Days to Optimal Health. |
| 18:37:47 |
kristina |
How are things going in your colon hydrotherapy practice? |
| 18:38:42 |
kristina |
Great news, Carol. You can actually notice that your hair is attached to your scalp more fully and thinning less? |
| 18:39:02 |
kristina |
LoneEagle: have I answered all your questions? |
| 18:39:17 |
Carol45 |
More strength to my hair and more fullness. |
| 18:39:22 |
Elsie |
I have your book, Kristina. Thank you. I have to say I had cancer. I had surgery and radiation....that's what drove me to colon hydrotherapy and nutrition in the first place. Just opened officially the 5th of December. |
| 18:39:44 |
kristina |
*harp* Carol, I never knew where those sounds came from. That is fun. |
| 18:40:22 |
kristina |
Wow! You have been through a LOT in the past years. |
| 18:40:44 |
kristina |
Did I miss any questions? |
| 18:40:52 |
Elsie |
I have my card in several doctors' offices. |
| 18:40:57 |
Carol45 |
Congratulations Elsie! |
| 18:41:25 |
Elsie |
Thank you Carol. Are you a colon hydrotherapist? |
| 18:41:34 |
major |
Where in Maine, Elsie? |
| 18:42:06 |
kristina |
Great. Do also post on our message board to let people know you are out there. I am certain you will get at least a tiny bit of traffic from that exposure. |
| 18:42:07 |
Elsie |
York County. Shapleigh to be exact. Find Rochester, NH and go straight east. |
| 18:43:14 |
Carol45 |
No, sure wish I was younger. I'd like to learn more. Right now I'd be happy, make that ecstatic, to find a Kristina in my area. I take enemas, never have had a colonic. |
| 18:43:35 |
kristina |
FYI - Next live chat will be on January 10th at 5pm, CST. We will send out an email reminder as long as you are signed up for the monthly newsletter. If not, you can find that link on the bottom left of the home page. |
| 18:43:37 |
Elsie |
Just how old do you think you have to be? I'm 64. |
| 18:44:19 |
Carol45 |
I'm 61, but arthritis has slowed me down. |
| 18:44:37 |
kristina |
Anyone have a topic they would like to see written about in our next newsletter or on the message boards? |
| 18:45:03 |
Amy33 |
I haven't had a colonic also ... just occasionally take enemas |
| 18:45:05 |
major |
Help for arthritis |
| 18:45:11 |
kristina |
Have you had any diminishing of the arthritis since you have started this health program, Carol? |
| 18:45:24 |
Carol45 |
Vitamin D and light in the posts. |
| 18:45:54 |
Elsie |
I find that my arthritic pains subside after a colonic. Anyone else experienced this? |
| 18:46:02 |
kristina |
It sure is great to have a colon hydrotherapist give you a colon cleanse, but I promise you that a well done enema series does clean out the colon just as well as a colon hydrotherapy session. |
| 18:46:19 |
Carol45 |
Yes I have now that I think about it, much less pain in moving around. Still can't get on my knees. |
| 18:46:25 |
kristina |
Thanks for the reminder, Carol |
| 18:46:55 |
LoneEagle |
One last Q - how long should I hold the 3 enemas in my series? |
| 18:47:24 |
Amy33 |
I'll be trying that tonight, kristina |
| 18:48:16 |
Carol45 |
There is such a gradual improvement, that I forget unless someone calls my attention to it. I do really well on the daily enema series. Can really tell it if I skip 2 days! |
| 18:48:19 |
Elsie |
I've tried the enema route and just cannot accomplish what I can with colonics. I've tried slow and still can't get the desired results. I guess you could say I can't hold my water! |
| 18:49:33 |
kristina |
The goal for the first two enemas is to clean out the colon. The solution from the first and second enema needs only to fill the colon as fully as you are able. The water needs to be taken in slowly, 1/2 to 2 cups per 60-120 seconds or so. Once you have taken the 1-4 quarts of water into the colon, slowly, you can release the water. Massaging the colon as you take in the water and massaging the colon or belly area as you release the water will help tremendously in moving out the most amount of waste from the body. |
| 18:49:48 |
kristina |
The third enema, the coffee enema, needs to be held for 12-15 minutes. |
| 18:50:22 |
kristina |
Have you tried using the sea salt in the water, Elsie? |
| 18:50:25 |
Carol45 |
Should you try to hold the first two enemas? |
| 18:50:33 |
LoneEagle |
Ok |
| 18:50:46 |
kristina |
No, you don't need to hold the first two enemas at all. |
| 18:50:52 |
Elsie |
How do you administer the coffee after a colonic? Yes, I have tried sea salt. |
| 18:50:55 |
LoneEagle |
I assume 2 qt of coffee for the last one |
| 18:51:34 |
Carol45 |
LoneEagle, 1/4 to 1 c. of coffee to 1 qt of water to start. |
| 18:51:57 |
LoneEagle |
Ah good thing I asked |
| 18:52:20 |
kristina |
I recommend that people start with 1 cup of brewed coffee in order to assess effect. It is easy to feel a "buzz" from a coffee enema. If this happens, you are taking into your body too much coffee during the coffee enema. From this one cup of coffee, it is fine to increase by 1/2 to 1 cup increments to determine your optimal level. |
| 18:52:31 |
Carol45 |
The enema coffee from Kristina is great. |
| 18:53:18 |
kristina |
You add the water to the coffee to deliver the coffee solution deeper into the colon. You could also use a colon tube for this purpose, along with a stronger coffee mixture. Retain the coffee enema 12-15 minutes. |
| 18:54:13 |
Carol45 |
*bird* Really wakes you up in the morning, just smelling it. Tastes great too. |
| 18:55:27 |
Elsie |
How are you guys getting all this noise? The music button? *meow* |
| 18:55:36 |
kristina |
You can administer the coffee with an enema bag or directly into the colon hydrotherapy inflow tubing |
| 18:55:40 |
Carol45 |
Did I ask about adding lavender oil to coffee? |
| 18:56:12 |
kristina |
Do you add the lavender oil to your coffee enema? |
| 18:56:29 |
Carol45 |
Elsie, leave a space between the sound or picture. :D |
| 18:56:36 |
kristina |
I have not done that before or taken time to ponder the lavender's additional benefits. |
| 18:57:01 |
Elsie |
Thank you Kristina. I enjoyed the evening chat with all of you. Merry Christmas to all and a happy new year. I look forward to our phone consult. |
| 18:57:15 |
Carol45 |
I think I read that somewhere about calming and healing effects. |
| 18:57:38 |
kristina |
I can't tell you all enough how much I appreciate you taking time out of your precious lives to hang out with me tonight. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. |
| 18:58:07 |
Amy33 |
Thank you Kristina |
| 18:58:31 |
kristina |
I, too, look forward to our phone consultation, Elsie. If anyone who is reading this chat or on this chat wants to learn about my phone consultations, please go here |
| 18:59:04 |
Carol45 |
Another topic - adding bifo (?) something to replace colonic balance when taking frequent enemas - when and how often? |
| 18:59:32 |
kristina |
My 15 year old son is just getting out of wrestling. I need to go home and feed him. He is a hungry boy, as you all can imagine. Then we might play a game of Boggle or watch the Daily Show, if I get lucky. |
| 18:59:54 |
kristina |
One time per week, Carol. I will go and close the chat now. Again, thank you ALL!!!! |
| 19:00:01 |
Carol45 |
*choochoo* Kristina, it's been a great chat as always. Have a VERY Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone. |
| 19:00:08 |
LoneEagle |
Thanks |
